AETC 1999 School Violence Survey Report
Alabama Educational Technology Conference
Birmingham-Jefferson Civic Center
Birmingham, Alabama

Friday, June 16-18, 1999
Facilitated by Brice Marsh
Coordinated by Rod Peeks

Student Participants: 35 students from Birmingham and Huntsville area schools.  The students represented 11 different schools and were all high school or recently graduated.
Adult Participants:  40 teachers and administrators who attended the 1999 ATEC Conference in Birmingham, Alabama on June 16-18, 1999.

The questions in these surveys were submitted by Governor Don Siegelman, Attorney General Bill Pryor, and Alabama Commissioner for Children's Affairs, Pam Baker.  These survey results are presented in a format which lets you compare the student responses and the adult responses.  Two surveys were used, each developed by different people from questions submitted as described above.  Due to different authors, some questions differ in wording and some questions do not have a counterpart in the other group.  Wherever possible, the results are presented in parallel and where that is not possible, it is so noted in the text.
